Encaustic Birds

This ongoing series investigates the interaction between cultivated urban gardens and native bird species. By growing sunflowers specifically to attract rainbow lorikeets, I create opportunities to document their feeding behaviour within a city setting. Photographs taken during these encounters become the foundation for encaustic paintings that capture the vibrancy, motion, and immediacy of these moments of interspecies exchange.
